The Grid Settings dialog box controls the grid in the document window. Choose View > Grid > Grid Setting to open the dialog box.

Visible Grid makes the grid visible.
Spacing defines the spacing for grid markers. Enter a number of units and then choose pixels, inches, or centimeters from the Units pop-up menu.
Color specifies the color of grid markers.
Display specifies that the grid display as lines or dots.
Snapping specifies increments for positioning objects. Enter a number of units in the Snap Every box and choose pixels, inches, or centimeters from the Units pop-up menu. When Snap to Grid is on, Dreamweaver positions the left corner of any object you move to the nearest increment specified here. The Snapping value is also used when you hold down Shift and use the arrow keys to move or resize layers. See Working with layers.
